HALIFAX
with Adam, Chris & Mike
Stephanie: State your name & what you do in the band.
Chris: I'm Chris. I play guitar & sing.
Adam: I'm Adam. I play guitar.
Mike: Mike & I sing.
Stephanie: What upcoming plans do you have for the band?
Adam: To release our full-length, 'The Inevitability of a Strange World'.
Stephanie: Why did you choose to name the album 'The Inevitability of
a Strange World'?
Adam: I was reading a book called the Rum Diary and there's a character
in that who created a book called The Inevitability of a Strange World and
I thought it was a cool thing and it kind of captivated how I was feeling
at the time about how crazy the world is.
Stephanie: Which song on the album means most to you & why OR which
song do you have fun playing the most?
Chris: 'Our Revolution' because we're all reading a book ['The Dirt'],
and I got a cool feel about how our home used to be in a place near our hometown
called Hollywood.
Adam: I don't know if you've heard of it.
Chris: [laughs] Yeah. We all partied there for awhile and I realized
how bad it sucks now and how cool it used to be. I came home after being pretty
screwed up all night and went home and just sat down that song just came out
and it's how I felt.
Stephanie: How do you feel you've grown musically since your EP in comparison
to your upcoming full-length?
Chris: I feel like it's totally different. I feel like it's a totally
different band. The EP was originally slated to just be like a demo. And we
just threw it together to change the style of music so people didn't think
we were the cookie-cutter pop punk band that we were made out to be.
Stephanie: Like how bands on DriveThru usually were thought to be...
Chris: Yeah. So we just threw that thing together and got picked up
by NoMilk and then eventually came out on DriveThru and now we actually get
to sit down and write the music we want to and put thought into it.
Adam: We took a lot more time to write these songs and structure them
and tweak them to really be what we were going for. As opposed to just rushing
stuff out.
Stephanie: If you were a piñata, what shape would you be &
what would you be filled with?
Adam: I think I would be a big weiner. Just because that's funny and I
would like to see a piñata shaped like a big weiner with big balls.
And I'd be chock full of swedish fish. It's a big swedish cock.
Mike: I'd be a yetti filled with wireless internet service.
Chris: I'd be a piñata shaped & made out of marijuana filled
with chocolate goodies.
Stephanie: Are you guys playing Bamboozle this year?
Adam: Yeah
Stephanie: Are you going to be... safer this year?
Adam: Yeah, I hope so. I'll play it safe. It wasn't that bad though.
I'll smack my head again.... y'know. I'll bring some fake blood. Pull a prank
on everybody. I don't think anybody even saw us play last year.
Stephanie: What are some of your favorite movies?
Chris: American History X.
Adam: Better Off Dead
Stephanie: I love that movie!
Adam: It's one of my favorites.
Stephanie: What's your favorite band to tour with?
Adam: I Am The Avalanche. Hands down. I think everyone agrees.
Stephanie: This was a submitted question. They said people say your band
is known as a "party band". [Everyone laughs] Do you like to be
known as that or does it make a difference to you?
Chris: Whatever makes them happy. Whatever you wanna call us.
Adam: We like to party though. Who doesn't?
Stephanie: In orange juice, do you prefer pulp or no pulp?
Adam: Vodka.
Stephanie: Pulp or no pulp!
Adam: No, I'm sorry. Gin. I take that back. Pulp. I like pulp.
Chris: Whatever you wanna give me.
Stephanie: Oh, so you have no preference?
Adam: Party band! Vodka!
Stephanie: What's your favorite city to play in?
Adam: I would have to say everytime we play Anaheim back at home. It's
always awesome.
Stephanie: Angela would like to know how you guys got sooo really really
ridiculously good looking.
Chris: I wanna know where the fuck Angela is.
Stephanie: Angela is on Long Island right now seeing Houston Calls
& Tokyo Rose. Oh, and she just texted me saying "Sorry, please don't
hate me."
Chris: Tell her we hate her.
Stephanie: I will. Right now.
Chris: Just play this back for her.
Adam: We spend a lot of time grooming everyday.
Stephanie: Okay???
Adam: That's how we get so good looking.
Stephanie: Oooh. Yeah. I completely forgot that was the question.
Adam: Yeah. I keep my head in the game.
Stephanie: What was the first album you ever bought?
Adam: 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'
Mike: Soundtrack to Terminator II.
Adam: Was it really??
Mike: Yeah.
Adam: That's funny.
Chris: ...I have no idea.
Stephanie: Okay, first concert you ever went to?
Chris: Beach Boys
Adam: Frank Sinatra
Mike: Fear Factory. And I'm not kidding either.
Adam: Who'd they play with?
Mike: I don't know. Some... metal openers. I was scared.
Adam: Who took you to that??
Mike: It was my friend's 9th grade birthday. And they're like "Oh,
we're gonna get a limo and go to the House of Blues and whatever concert's
there, we get to see."
Adam: Seriously?
Mike: Yeah. And it just happened to be Fear Factory. The first concert
I went to on my own will was NoFX.
Stephanie: What was the most outrageous gift a fan has ever given you?
Adam: Herpes? Just kidding. I got a penis shaped cake.
Chris: I got a lot of dildos.
Stephanie: Sounds like a reoccuring theme here.
Adam: Halifax loves its weiners. Who doesn't love a good weiner?
Stephanie: Do you still get phone calls all the time since you give out
your numbers so often?
Chris: Yes.
Stephanie: Are you planning on playing Warped this year?
Adam: We're planning. I don't know if Warped Tour's planning. [laughs].
We dont' know for sure yet. We'd love to if we have the chance.
Stephanie: Oh, Mike. Mike Saffert [Hidden In Plain View] wants to know
what it's like to kiss men.
Mike: Mike from Hidden In Plain View said that?
Chris: Say he's kissed all of us individually. He should know.
Mike: You know what you should say to him? You should ask him... because
he would know too.
Stephanie: If there was only one band you could see and listen to for
the rest of your life, who would it be?
Chris: Bob Marley.
Mike: I'd say AFI because seriously I never get sick of them.
Adam: I think I'd have to say Radiohead. They keep doing new stuff
so you wouldn't get bored.
Stephanie: What's a typical day in the life of Halifax?
Adam: It's pretty late. We wake up late. Get to the venue late. Go on
stage late. Stay up late.
Chris: There's two types of days. Either we'll all wake up and we'll
be all sick. IE: hungover. and we'll just hangout and vow that no one's gonna
drink that night. Or we'll all be completely blasted and go to the venue and
acquire some more alcohol. And just work on getting more fucked up.
Adam: We're not really a party band... I don't know why people think
that...
Chris: Today is just one of those days where everyone is sick and we're
trying not to drink.
Stephanie: Any last comments?
Adam: Nope.
Chris: I have one! I have a new phone number. It's 805.907.68**. Sign
off.
