HOME GROWN
with Dan, Johnee & Adam

Steph: State your name and what you do in the band.
Dan:
My name is Dan and I do heroin in the band.
Jess: Okay, what instrument?
Dan: Oh, I play guitar.

Jess: Explosive Camels land the same day you inherit 5 million dollars and say they're going to blow up the earth. How old are you?
Dan:
Come again?
Jess: Explosive Camels land on the same day you inherit 5 million dollars and say they're going to blow up the earth. How old are you?
Dan: How old am I?
Jess: Yeah.
Dan: That's possibly the lamest question I've ever heard. Next question.

Jess: How old are you?
Dan:
How old am I? I'm in my twenties.

Steph: Why are there random fishing poles in the trailer?
Dan:
I would assume that's because we like to fish.
Jess: Where??
Steph: In the toilets when you clean them??
Dan: When there's lakes. And we do actually have days off.

Steph: What are your thoughts on toilets and cleaning them?
Jess:
Yeah, with your hands.
Dan: I love to clean shitters. Anytime I can get into one and scrape off some brown stuff to make it look white… It's great.

Jess: If you were a piñata, what shape would you be and what would you be filled with?
Dan:
I would be shaped like a giant cock because I like to beat cocks. Especially my own.
Jess: What would be in it?
Dan: A lot of mayonnaise. Just for the kids.

Steph: If you were walking down the street and you came across an explosive camel reading a book about your mother, what would you do?
Dan:
Reading a book about my mother?
Steph: Mhmm.
Dan: I'd probably peek in and try to read over his shoulder cause I've never read that book.
Steph: Do you think it would be interesting.
Dan: Yeah. My mother's actually lead a pretty crazy life. It'd be a very interesting book actually.

Steph: What would you do if you came across her dancing a tango with a radioactive llama on the street?
Dan:
My mother?
Jess: What's your favorite color?
Dan: Blue

Steph: Do you know who Yanni is?
Dan:
Yes
Steph: What do you think of him?
Dan: I think good for him because he does it well. I don't listen to his music but I think it's great that he's doing what he's doing.

Jess: What inspired you to play?
Dan:
To play music?
Steph: Yeah.
Dan: I saw one of my friends play guitar in 7th grade for a show and tell.

Steph: Here are some questions that people have been sending my phone all night… Was there actually a surfer girl in any of your lives that the song was based on?
Dan:
Yes.
Jess: Any comments on it?
Dan: What do you want to know?
Steph: I don't know. Anything?
Dan: Yes, there was a girl that the song was written about. It wasn't anything that had to do with me… but… there was.

Steph: Okay, here's a weird one from Brendan… Have you ever had a dream where you wake up with opposite genitalia?
Dan:
No.

Steph: What music did you like when you were little?
Dan:
I liked Billy Idol, Duran Duran, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson, Men At Work.

Steph: If there was one song that probably means the most to you, what would it be and why?
Dan:
One song that I really really like is "Under Pressure" by David Bowie and Queen. I don't know. That song just hit something into me and I don't know what it is. I love Queen and I love David Bowie… and just that song is… I think one of the best songs ever written.

Steph: What plans does the band have for the future?
Dan:
To tour some more, to write a new album…

Steph: Any bands you wanna tour with?
Dan:
Absolutely. I'd love to tour with tons of bands… Good Charlotte again…
Steph: If you could tour with any band, dead or alive, who would it be?
Johnee: Wham. Wham for sure. Wake me up before you go go. What else do you want?!
Adam: Or Cyndi Lauper. She's still touring though.
Steph: Didn't she like… hurt her vocal chords or something?
Adam: I didn't hear about that.
Steph: I heard she couldn't sing anymore because if she did she'd totally blow out her voice or something like that.
Adam: She's actually still touring. Unless that's really recent news.
Steph: No, it wasn't that recent. I don't know. Maybe she's still doing it even though they told her not to.

Steph: Alright, I'm really tired and I can't think of anything else, so any last comments?
Adam:
You do make something! (earlier I said I didn't make anything… when we were talking about adam crocheting his own beanies)
Steph: Oh yeah? What?
Adam: You make conversation.
Steph: I do?
Adam: Yeah.
Steph: Alright, cool.

Steph: Alright, do you have any last comments?
Dan:
Yeah. Don't fuck sheep.
Johnee: Instead of fucking sheep, fuck the white man.
Adam: Yeah, go to our website homegrownonline.com and uh… we have a new video coming out… Paul! You're hair looks the best I've ever seen it! (Adam shouting to Paul from Good Charlotte) And we have a street team there you can join and help us out and we can get you stuff for free, and Drive-Thru Records has a new calendar coming out in December and it's gonna have all the Drive-Thru bands and they're gonna have a DVD with a bunch of live footage and we'll be on there.
Steph: Alright, thank you.
Adam: Thank you for the McDonalds (Faith had gotten them some McDonalds). Thank you very much.
Faith: Yeah, that was all me right there.
