New Found Glory
with Jordan Pundik

How has the band grown, musically, since the last release?

Jordan:
When people first hear the record they say how much better my voice has gotten. Overall there is a lot more confidence in our songwriting and abilities. The songs are more anthemic than past releases. "Coming Home" is more influenced from the S/T and "Sticks and Stones" in taking the style of those anthemic big sounding songs and just making them all sound a million times better.

Is there any one song on the album that stands out to you the most? Why?

Jordan:
I think definitely a song called "Oxygen" is one of my favorite songs because playing that song reminds me of times when I would be away for weeks and months. I would be away from my wife and family and I felt exactly what the song says "I can't breathe without you" like you can't breathe without that person or people around.

Your upcoming tour is of a much smaller level than you were previously playing. Are you happy to be going back to a more 'intimate' setting for shows?

Jordan:
We are definitely excited because we've been away for a while and we kind of wanted to do something special. To make this tour really cool and special and play smaller venues because we haven't been around for a while- To make it more intimate for our friends. I would love to play capacity clubs of 200 people but we can't always do that….

What's the craziest thing a fan has ever done for you?

Jordan:
There's this one fan who we're actually really good friends with now. Before we were good friend with him he was at maybe 150 NFG shows. When we were on Warped Tour last time he drove to every single show and would hide in the porta-potties until they would open the gates. And when they would open the gates he would sneak out and come hang with us until we would play.

What band has been the best/your favorite to tour with over the years?

Jordan:
I would definitely say touring with Green Day was amazing but the Less Than Jake guys are so fun to tour with.

If you were a piñata, what shape would you be & what would you be filled with?

Jordan:
I would be a dog filled with Sourpatch kids.

What are some of your absolute favorite movies?

Jordan:
Goodfellas, Casino, really any gangster type movies with Joe Pesci or Robert De Niro. Old School was funny as is pretty much anything with Will Ferrell is just great. Anchorman. Any Italian directed horror movies…

What direction does the new album take in regards to past albums?

Jordan:
The new record is everything that kids love about NFG but just taken to the next level.

Would you ever be interested in doing a tour with Fenix TX [since they've been 'resurrected'] anytime soon? I think it's safe to say people would LOVE that lineup...

Jordan:
We did a tour with them a long time ago and it was really fun. For me personally I would love to because I'm good friends with Will, their singer. When we were living in CA he lived like 10 minutes down the street from me, so I would love to tour with them.

I know Chad has Broken Sounds -- Are there any releases people should be looking forward to? Any bands to keep an eye out for?

Jordan:
Yes. A band called The International Superheroes of Hardcore.

What else can we expect from NFG in the coming future?

Jordan:
Touring. Just a lot of touring like we always do. We're going to try and setup something really cool for the next US tour which I can't really talk about at this minute, but hopefully it's going to be pretty awesome.

Any last comments?

Jordan:
September 19- "Coming Home" in stores!
